Matt Dubanoski, Karri Byram, and Leslie Hammond spent their careers at LBCC. Their families started scholarship funds in their names. The rest is up to us.
We remember these valued employees with gratitude for their service, the lives they touched, and the lasting contributions they made to LBCC.
The memorial funds established in their honor provide a meaningful way for their legacies to continue, creating opportunities, supporting students, and carrying forward the values they brought to our college community.

Karri graduated from LBCC and worked here more than twenty-two years, in enough different jobs that people across the college knew her. She grew up going to races with her family and never left that behind. Her husband Scott and their son Michael both drive. Karri and her daughter Clara worked concessions and raffles at Willamette Speedway for years. When the ATTC opened in Lebanon she was giddy about it, because students were going to learn in a building the community built for them.
The scholarship supports: a student in the Automotive Technology program, with preference for a local female student from Lebanon. It was established by her husband, Scott and some of her colleagues.
Administrative Assistant
Matt graduated from LBCC's Automotive Technician program. As a student he took first at the state Skills USA competition and placed tenth nationally. He came back to the ATTC as an instructional specialist, then joined the faculty. He taught automotive electrical systems and handled the program's ASE accreditation paperwork. He was matter of fact and never showed up unprepared. Whatever he built, he handed to whoever needed it.
The scholarship supports: a student at the ATTC, with priority for students who have unmet financial need. It was established by his family.
Automotive Technology Faculty
Leslie was the beloved Dean of Academic Foundations at Linn-Benton Community College from 2010-2026. She believed strongly in second chances and the power of education to end generational poverty, and that community colleges are essential to a healthy democracy.
The scholarship supports: any LBCC student. Established by her parents, Steven and Nancy.
